A Journey Through Grief and Purpose
I’m Leah Halpert. When I lost my husband, I lost more than a partner—I lost my anchor. The grief was overwhelming, but through that pain, I found a deeper purpose. Grief doesn’t end love — it transforms it.
As a biomedical scientist and professor, I’ve spent years immersed in writing, research and teaching. But after loss, writing became my lifeline. Now, through my Story of Mei-Li series and personal reflections on LinkedIn and Substack, I write to help others heal.
My journey is one of heartbreak, faith, and ultimately—resilience. If you’re walking through loss, know this: you’re not alone, and healing is possible.

Divine Encounters

Losing my husband was not just a loss of my partner but of a part of my soul. He was the person who anchored me through life’s storms, and his passing created an emptiness so vast, it felt like the world itself had vanished beneath my feet.
As I navigated the overwhelming grief, I realized that my love for him didn’t fade with his absence. It became the lens through which I discovered my purpose. Through the pain, I found a deeper connection to myself and the world around me.
