Where I Hide When No One Knows

A place only He and I know

šŸ‘‰ Everyone copes with losing a loved one differently, especially when tragedy strikes hard. I can’t speak for others, but here’s my secret.

🄲 After losing my husband so suddenly, with no chance to say goodbye, nothing—no preaching, sermon, prayer, or scripture—seemed to help. Everything that once held meaning lost its power to offer comfort or clarity. When someone tried to quote scripture, urging me to ā€œjust believe,ā€ it often had the opposite effect.

šŸ› Yet, there was one constant that stayed with me every day—and still does: worship songs. Perhaps it’s because I’ve always loved singing to the Lord. When I’m in worship, the presence of God falls on me so tangibly that I can feel it physically.

šŸ› Worship songs are my most faithful companions in my daily walk; they are the first things I hear upon waking each morning. Whether I was in tears or lying awake through endless sleepless nights, it was the worship songs that led me to a secret place with God, even when He seemed so distant.

šŸ™ I pray that you, too, will find a secret hiding place on your journey.
