Blades of Grass in the Ocean

I reflect on the days of unbearable pain after losing my husband. I felt like someone drowning in a vast ocean, reaching desperately for any blade of grass drifting by, hoping it might keep me from sinking. In that endless water, even the smallest trace of hope felt like a miracle.

In the midst of loss and sorrow, some kind strangers I met online became friends and remain so to this day, while others passed through only briefly before becoming strangers again.

Regardless, every moment of comfort, every brief encounter of compassion, was a gift that helped sustain me and carry me forward.

I’m deeply grateful to anyone who crossed my path, even if only for a fleeting moment, bringing comfort when it was most needed. A simple presence, a kind word, or a small act of care helped me stay afloat through the darkest days.

Scripture reminds us that life itself is fragile and beyond our control: “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away…”Job 1:21
