The Song Buried in Silence — Until God Played It

Even the skies declare His glory

My old church used to sing “Holy Forever.” Since my husband’s passing over a year ago, I haven’t heard it again.

I have a list of favorite worship songs on my phone’s YouTube, which I listen to during my daily walks—yet, Holy Forever wasn’t on that list.

Two days ago, out of nowhere, Holy Forever appeared as the very first song on my playlist. When I played it, I felt the Lord’s presence. I couldn’t stop singing it.

I visited a new local church a week ago but I didn’t know any of the worship songs they sang there.

While listening to Holy Forever, a thought came to me, like a whisper from the Holy Spirit: “Lori (the pastor’s wife) will play it this Sunday.”

“No, impossible!” I told the Lord. “OK, let Lori play it.” But I told myself, “If she doesn’t, I’ll send her the song to play next Sunday.”

I attended the Sunday service today with no expectations.

Lori played the first song— a song I never heard before, so I just closed my eyes with hands in air. But when the familiar music started for the second song, I was stunned. I opened my eyes to look at the screen: it was Holy Forever.

I sang at the top of my voice, worshiping and praising God with all my heart.

Psalm 139:2 (KJV) “Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.”
